Doma Weekly: Tradeable Subdomains, ENS Support, Updates & Features

The pace picked up this week as the team shipped some of the most important releases Doma has seen so far. Engineering pushed through a major milestone, while the community remained highly engaged as ever.

Product Updates

  • Shipped Doma v8.0, a major release introducing synthetics, tradeable subdomains, and onchain ENS claims for parent domains.
  • Users can now set their ENS directly from Doma, removing the need for DNSSEC and external setup steps.
  • Subdomain trading is now live, opening up new composability and marketplace flows across the app. Start trading here.
  • Ran a focused Bug Bash Friday, squashing a wide range of major and minor issues across the app and protocol.
  • Subdomain registrar proof of concept deployed on Sepolia, laying groundwork for full production rollout.
  • Improved domain and subdomain settings UX:
    • Transaction stepper for ENS claim flow
    • Settings access on subdomains
    • Performance improvements to DNS record handling
    • Proper gas estimation for ENS transactions
  • Enabled reverse and wallet resolution across the entire app.

Community Corner

This week saw a clear lift in activity across the Doma community. As trading picked up, attention shifted toward live market behavior rather than upcoming launches. Across the server, we saw:

  • Members closely tracking active domains
  • Discussions around liquidity, visibility, and post-launch dynamics
  • People revisiting domains they’d been watching over time

We also launched another community domain on Doma, 24kgold.ai, adding to the growing set of domains shaped and activated directly by the community.

Community support remained one of the strongest signals this week, with members helping each other by:

  • Setting expectations around update timing and UI behavior

WWW: Weekly Wednesday Walkthrough

This week, we also kicked off WWW: Weekly Wednesday Walkthrough, a new tutorial series designed to make it easier to understand and use every Doma feature as it ships.

Each week, we’ll publish a short walkthrough highlighting one core product flow from first click to completion.

WWW #1: Claim a Subdomain & Set It as Your ENS
Our first tutorial walks through:

  • Claiming a subdomain on Doma
  • Setting that subdomain as your ENS directly in-app
  • Using a human-readable name instead of a long wallet address

No external setup, no DNSSEC, just a simple, one-click flow. More walkthroughs coming weekly as we continue shipping.
