Solana Breakpoint 2025: Doma, DomainFi, and bringing the Internet Onchain

This past week we were at Solana Breakpoint 2025 in Abu Dhabi. The team and I attended to meet some of the most passionate builders in the world. Solana has always boasted an incredible community and it was on full display over the course of 4 days.

Lightning Talk: Tokenizing the Internet

My good friend Elias Rendón Benger, CEO of InterNetX and myself gave a 5 min lightning talk on stage about domain tokenization.

During the talk, I explained how we are tokenizing 46 million domain names on Solana as real-world assets, bringing a significant part of the world’s internet infrastructure onchain. Domains have always been core internet property. Tokenization turns them into liquid, programmable primitives that can finally participate in DeFi at scale.

Playa Du Sol

Playa Du Sol was our invite-only sunset social bringing together top Solana builders, founders, creators, and ecosystem leaders. The event was co-hosted by Solana, InterNetX, Maelstrom, Anagram, and Superteam UAE. 

Held at Asia Asia, the evening saw a strong turnout from across the Solana ecosystem, with high-signal conversations, new connections, and a relaxed close to a packed Breakpoint week.

General Conference and Meetings

This year Breakpoint saw over 7,000 people from 105 countries, making the event truly one of its kind when it comes to scale and size. You could tell that the Solana ecosystem is growing faster than ever before.

The Breakpoint Booth day was a hectic but exciting day for our team. We kicked things off alongside our partners at InterNetX, where we had the chance to connect with a steady stream of curious attendees. Many were intrigued by the idea of DomainFi and how Doma Protocol acts as the bridge bringing Web2 domains into Web3.

We had great conversations around domain tokenization and the opportunities it unlocks for everyday users, builders, and the broader ecosystem.

Closing Thoughts

What stood out most at Breakpoint wasn’t just the scale, but the quality of conversations. Builders are no longer asking if core internet assets belong onchain, but how. The interest in DomainFi, combined with the response to our lightning talk, made it clear that tokenized domains are being recognized as serious infrastructure.
