Doma Weekly: Buyouts in Action, $46M Volume and first Dominion 2026 Speakers Announced

This week on Doma showed another important shift: DomainFi continuing to move from theory into real market behavior.

We saw our first recent domain buyout in action, crossed $46M+ in total volume and 5M+ in total transactions, and continued to expand the ecosystem with new launches, community growth, and the first confirmed speakers for Dominion 2026.

Here’s everything that happened across product, markets, and community this week.

Product Updates

This week we rolled out Doma v8.11.0, bringing several improvements across trading, wallet connectivity, and domain management.

Improved Wallet Experience

Wallet management across the app has been significantly improved.

Switching between wallets is now seamless, eliminating previous issues with disconnects or stuck states when changing accounts. Wallet sessions are also handled more reliably across the platform, creating a smoother overall experience.

Liquidity & Trading Improvements

Several updates were made to improve trading clarity and liquidity interactions:

  • Fee tiers now visible by default when providing liquidity, with the 0.3% tier pre-selected for convenience
  • LP fee claims fixed, ensuring claimed fees now display the correct amounts
  • Cleaner swap details, removing unnecessary trailing zeros in token amounts
  • Instant offer cancellation, removing the need to refresh the page after cancelling an offer

Domain Management

We also improved the workflow for domain owners managing assets on Doma.

  • Smoother domain imports, automatically setting resolver and address during import
  • Launch flow fixes, resolving an issue where action buttons could disappear during domain launch steps

UI Improvements

Finally, we shipped several interface refinements across the platform:

  • Improved mobile navigation
  • Various small copy and UI fixes across the app

These updates continue to make Doma faster, smoother, and easier to use as activity across DomainFi keeps growing.

Feature Spotlight: Domain Buyouts on Doma

One of the most important mechanics of DomainFi played out recently: a full domain buyout.

tradetheinternet.com was acquired on February 27 for $750, demonstrating how tokenized domains can transition from fractional ownership back into full ownership through a market-driven buyout.

At the time of the acquisition:

  • 100,264.6 TRADETHEINTERNET tokens were circulating
  • 13,741.4 vested tokens represented fractional ownership

Once the buyout occurred:

  • The domain was transferred to the buyer
  • All token holders became eligible to redeem their share of the buyout proceeds

If you held tokens for the domain, you can now claim your portion of the proceeds directly on the Doma app.

This mechanism is a core piece of the DomainFi model:
fractional ownership, open market trading, and a clear path for buyers to acquire the full asset when conviction is high.

Doma By The Numbers

Momentum across the ecosystem continues to accelerate.

We’ve now crossed 5.2M total transactions and surpassed $46M in total trading volume, another strong signal that participation across DomainFi keeps growing.

➤ Total Volume: $46.41M
➤ Total Transactions: 5,213,824
➤ Total Tokenized Assets: 11.978K
➤ Total Wallets: 36.785K+
➤ Launched Tokens: 160+

Looking Ahead

DomainFi continues to evolve week by week.

With buyouts happening in the market, new domains launching daily, and more domain owners experimenting with tokenization, the infrastructure around liquid digital real estate keeps expanding.

We’re still early in this transition.

But the signals are getting clearer: domains are starting to behave less like static assets and more like programmable market instruments.
