Doma Weekly: Agents Start Trading, Chat Opens & Applications.com Countdown

This was one of the biggest product weeks. AI agents can now trade directly on Doma through a new MCP connector, community chat opened on token pages, limit orders are live, and a new Help Center shipped. Volume crossed $265M+, Launch Wars kicked off Season 5, and the team pulled back the curtain on how partnerships and business development actually work behind DomainFi. On top of all that, Applications.com is now just a few days away.

Product Updates

Here are the major features now live on Doma:

  • Limit orders are live. Set your own price and the order waits until the market reaches it. Open any domain token page, switch to Advanced View, and choose the Limit tab. You'll get an in-app notification the moment one fills, and filled orders land in your transaction history. How limit orders work →
  • Community chat is open. Every domain token page now has a live chat attached to it, so you can read what people think about a domain and add your own take. Join the community chat →
  • Agents can transact on Doma. A new Doma MCP connector lets AI agents like ChatGPT or Claude get quotes and buy or sell domain tokens directly. More on this below.
  • Buyout tooltips now show exactly what a domain pays out to holders per token during a buyout, right at the top of the token page.
  • In-app announcements are live, so product news now shows up directly inside Doma instead of requiring people to go looking for it.
  • The new Doma helpcenter page is live, covering the basics of self-service on Doma. Start learning →

Feature Spotlight: Agents Can Transact on Doma

Back in April, our first agentic domains demo showed AI agents registering and managing domains on their own using MPP, a machine-to-machine payments protocol. This week, that idea took its next real step: a Doma MCP connector is now live, letting AI agents transact directly on the platform.

In practice, this means you can point an agent like ChatGPT or Claude at a domain token you're interested in, and it can research the domain, pull a live quote, and buy or sell it, without you needing to leave the chat. The agent can also just answer questions about a token if you're not ready to trade yet.

It's a small step technically, but a meaningful one conceptually. Domains have always been something people research, price, and negotiate manually. This is the first version of that process happening through an agent instead of a browser tab. Stay tuned - Tutorial is coming soon.

New Doma Helpcenter

Doma now has a dedicated Help Center, built as a stop for anyone with a question about the platform. Rather than digging through Discord or piecing together an answer from old posts, it's a proper self-service hub covering wallets, trading, launches, and general domain management, all in one place.

It's a natural extension of the FAQ page from earlier this year, expanded into something built to actually be searched and browsed rather than just scrolled through. If you're new to Doma or just want a quick answer without waiting on support, it's worth bookmarking, and you can also reach the same information through the Doma AI chat.

Doma onAir feat. Chad Folkening

Applications.com, the domain for the entire software and AI application economy, launches next week on August 12.

Ahead of the launch, Chad Folkening, founder of eCorp.com and Global Ventures and co-founder of Domain Holdings, returned to Doma OnAir for episode 10 to dig into the applications.com backstory.

He bought the domain back in 1997, as part of a small stack of infrastructure names that also included DSL.com and connectivity.com, and it's pulled steady traffic ever since, largely from people searching for job and healthcare applications.

Launch parameters: twenty percent of the domain will be available to own, with a starting FDV of $200K and a bonding FDV of $225K.

2% of total supply is also set aside as an airdrop incentive for users who trade during bonding and hold for 30 days post-graduation. Find out more about the airdrop here.

Asked about tokenizing a domain he's held for nearly three decades, Chad was direct about the intent:

"URLs are digital native assets. We're launching this to get going." - Chad Folkening, Founder of eCorp.com

Community Recap: Where Strategy Meets Growth

This week's Discord AMA was showing how DomainFi actually grows behind the scenes. Mike was joined by Kathy Nielsen, Business Development Director at D3 and Susan Lawrence, who leads Web2 BD & Partnerships at D3 for a conversation about what it takes to grow DomainFi beyond crypto.

The discussion covered how Doma builds relationships across the domain industry, what registrars, registries, and partners actually do day to day, and how a new partnership turns into a real product inside the ecosystem. There was also a good amount of time spent on bridging Web2 and Web3 domains, plus where Kathy and Susan see the biggest opportunities for DomainFi over the next year. The AMA closed with a live Q&A covering partnerships, domain management, registrars, and where business development is headed next.

Community Corner

A new Launch Wars Season 5, Iron Siege, went live this week and keeps the community buzzing, you can join the game here. Play now →

The recap from our first-ever Office Hours session also went public this week: 245 messages and 52 participants took part, a strong showing for a first run.

Hype is building around Domain Asset Vehicles (DAVs), with the community picking up on signals that a launch is close. AI-powered trading and lending were also teased again this week, still light on details, but clearly on people's minds.

Looking Ahead

This week showed two sides of the same platform: on one hand, AI agents trading directly on Doma and chat opening up on every token page, pushing the product forward. With trading bot strategies next and Applications.com landing in a week, there's a lot lining up for August.
