100K+ and Counting: The Community Powering DomainFi
The Summer of DomainFi hasn’t just played out at conferences and summits, it’s been thriving online. Over the last month, we’ve hosted a string of Discord AMAs and X Spaces that brought the community together to debate, learn, and shape the future of DomainFi. With 100,000+ members now on Discord, Doma’s online community has become the heartbeat of DomainFi. Builders, traders, and domainers gather here every day to ask tough questions and accelerate the movement.
Here’s a look back at what went down this month.
DomainFi On Air X Space
We kicked things off with our first-ever Doma X Space featuring D3 chief Fred Hsu, Todd Ryan (ABC Productions) and Chad Folkening (RealtyDAO). The discussion covered the $360B domain market, the shift to tokenization, and why blockchain infrastructure will unlock liquidity, enforceability, and new utilities for domains. The conversation left one clear message: the industry shouldn’t reinvent domains but rather build on existing infrastructure, with blockchain providing the transparency and enforceability to take them further. Discord AMAs
August was packed with Discord AMAs, each tackling a different angle of the DomainFi ecosystem. Michael Ho, CBO and Co-Founder of D3, answered community questions about Doma’s mission, roadmap, and partnerships, while Nishant, our Developer Ecosystem Lead, walked builders through the Doma Forge program and how to tap into grants and tools on our testnet.
Later in the month, Chris Lam, who leads APAC business development, shared insights into regional growth and partnerships across Asia-Pacific, highlighting the truly global scope of DomainFi. To round things out, Joanna Ng, D3’s Head of Growth, hosted a newcomer-friendly session that broke down the basics of tokenization and explained how Doma’s approach avoids the pitfalls of past experiments. Together, these AMAs showcased the community’s curiosity, the builders’ momentum, and the growing global reach of the Domaverse.

The DomainFi Challenge on DoraHacks
Mid-month, the spotlight turned to builders. With $50K in prizes and $1M in grants, the DomainFi Challenge went live on DoraHacks, inviting developers worldwide to experiment with turning domains into DeFi primitives. Submissions are open until September 12th, and the energy around it is massive.
